The “Energy Experiences” course is a unique course developed under sponsorship of the US Department of Energy and in partnership with area utilities and companies.  It is coordinated by PEIK (the Power and Energy Institute of Kentucky) at the University of Kentucky.  The program offers students an “inside” opportunity to visit industrial sites related to power and energy and to speak with the engineers and operators about the sites and their technologies. Students prepare the visits in advance through online readings and assignments. The students then document their learning through developing a journal that is submitted after the visits.  Students earn 3 credit hours through the experience.

After completing the application below, please return it to Dr. Larry Holloway by email to or in printout to FPAT room 453.  Email submissions should have the subject line: “Energy Experiences Application”. Applications are due by Monday March 28.
