David Parsley, Ph.D. is an industrial extension specialist in the University of Kentucky, College of Engineering. He is a member of the Lean Systems Program within the Institute of Research for Technology Development.
David holds three engineering degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Masters of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering all from the University of Kentucky. In 2011 he also earned a Lean Systems Graduate Certificate.
Before joining the Lean Systems Program, he worked in mining/materials equipment manufacturing. During his time there he assisted in the development of lean model areas within two manufacturing sites. At these sites, he was responsible for developing production layout to support continuous flow throughout operations.
David has been a core member of the Lean Systems Program since 2008. During this time he has assisted in the training and facilitation of core lean capabilities within a variety of manufacturing organizations. He is also part of the team that is responsible for the facilitation and continued improvement of the Lean Systems Certification, a core offering of the Lean Systems Program’s Industry Training.
