We are pleased to announce that the Institute for Sustainable Manufacturing (ISM) will be hosting the visit of Mr. Marvin Hardt, PhD candidate at Aachen University, Germany. Mr. Hardt will kindly give us a seminar on ‘Experimental Study of Surface Integrity and Biocompatibility of Cryogenically Machined Ti-6Al-4V Alloy‘ in 414A CRMS Building @2PM this coming Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Please come to join us and meet with Mr. Marvin Hardt in person.
The seminar abstract is available here.Â
Bio of Presenter:Â
Marvin Hardt is a research assistant / Ph.D. student at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of the RWTH Aachen University (Germany), working in the department of Cutting Technology of the Chair of Manufacturing Technology. He received his Master Degree in Production Engineering from the RWTH Aachen University and graduated with honors. During his master program, he studied abroad at the Institute for Sustainable Manufacturing (ISM) of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, USA under the supervision of Prof. Jawahir. At the ISM he wrote his master thesis in the field of cryogenic machining.
His research at the WZL is focused on the modelling and evaluation of cutting processes. In this field, he is working on the finite element (FE) analysis of machining process as well as on the inverse identification of constitutive material equations.
